My parents never let us say that we were bored growing up. We had plenty of toys and things to do to entertain ourselves. We had friends in the neighbourhood. We really didn’t have an excuse. It used to annoy me when they said that, but now I’m so grateful that they did. I had to get creative as a child. I think it helps me now as well. There’s very rarely a moment that I’m lost in what to do. There’s always something.

Ruth wasn’t a book that I thought about regarding infertility. It’s a book about choosing God, overcoming grief, and finding a kinsman redeemer. But there’s a story deep within the pages that was suggested, but not elaborated on. A story of barrenness.

You don’t have to feel lonely or lost. The Holy One is there with you. This might just end up being one of the most memorable Christmases you’ll ever have.

Our lives are not about money. It’s not important how much we make. It’s a privilege and blessing if we have an abundance, but it isn’t supposed to be our focus.

But I knew that was just the beginning. There was more to come. I needed to be faithful with what He had given me to start, and the pieces would come together in His time.

A prayer for those going through infertility this Christmas.

As I think about the question now, I find myself feeling warm to it. What once terrified me is now a well received thought. I guess as my relationship grows with Jesus, it has now become something I yearn for rather than panic about. Something I would love to happen, rather than fear.

It’s typical to think of what to do if you take a hit financially, but a question not asked, is what to do if it increases? Unless you dream about an exorbitant increase, you don’t typically think or plan for the slight increases. It all seems like a great bonus, yet can disappear like the rest of your money. So, it’s important to have a plan for that as well.

Sunday rolled around and we were all headed off to my aunt and uncle’s church. However, Mopsie had to stay back at the house. But she was always good left on her own. We didn’t have to crate her or anything.
