The Lord told Moses the place he was standing was holy ground. Moses clearly saw that something was happening. Some powerful deity was calling out to him. Now it’s about to get more personal.

Recently I have been thinking about how God is so brilliant! He’s so amazing words can’t describe Him. He is ineffable. Ineffable means too great to be put into words.

We’ve spent the last several weeks looking into great leaders’ lives. We’ve explored the areas that the Lord worked in them to build up their character and their stories, in order to lead a multitude of other people to Him. Here’s the thing, we’ve looked at a lot of people. Now I want to look to God.

Matthew 6 is full of great money managing advice. It also shows you that your spiritual life and financial situation are often tied closely together. Either your heart is inclined to boast, be proud, and flaunt what you have, storing up treasures for yourself. Or, it is humble, quiet, and focused on what God wants for you, with an eternal kingdom focus. Though the contrasts sound quite different, it can be hard to really see which category you fall in at times.

As we come to the end of this series, I find it fitting to explore the life of Jesus; our ultimate humble example.

A prophecy was given 400 years before it was fulfilled. A prophet would come and restore families. He would declare the Lord’s coming. It wouldn’t be Elijah himself, but someone bold and confident like him. One that the people would respect.

Do you ever get stuck in a comfortable place? You want something that’s in front of you, but your comfort of your current circumstances leaves you wanting without trying for it?

Moses and Joshua had quiet beginnings. Elijah had awe-inspiring moments. David had a progressive and highly unexpected one.
