A Transcending Love

My lips will glorify You
because Your faithful love is better than life.
Psalm 63:3

God’s love goes beyond your life. He is the One who created you. He fills your lungs with breath each new day. He walks with you throughout your lifetime, cheering you on towards Him.

His love doesn’t begin at your conception and end at your last breath. It transcends time and boundaries. God’s faithful love for you started when He first thought of and penned your life in His grand universal plans before the world began, and it continues for the rest of eternity.

As you think upon God’s love for you, it should be something you crave more than life itself. His love is why you exist. He counted you worthy and perfect to create; a special place within history to help establish His grander purposes. He knit you together and brought you into this world by His miraculous power in order for you to experience Him and enjoy a relationship with Jesus. He called out to you from the moment you were conceived and began a journey of wooing your heart with His truth. He was in love with you and wanted you to grow a love for Him.

That’s why Father God sent His Son Jesus into the world. Jesus took on the weight of sin so that you could experience His love and freedom wholeheartedly. He didn’t want anything to stand in the way that would prevent you from coming to Him and enjoying the full blessing of a right relationship with Yahweh.

Have you accepted the reality of Jesus’ death and resurrection? Do you have a relationship with Him? Then, the Lord protects you by His faithful love and offers you the great treasures He gave his Son, because you are now adopted into the family of God and considered His precious child.

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39

Because you are the Lord’s child, absolutely nothing can separate you from His love, and that powerful, intimate relationship you share together. No matter how many things try to stand against you, you are protected under the shelter of the Lord and nothing can take you from that. You are secure. Let your heart feel great love in that assurance.

“The one who has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father. I also will love him and will reveal myself to him.” – John 14:21

You are loved by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All aspects of the triune God adore you! Because of this, Jesus romances you. Just like a boyfriend pursues a girlfriend towards marriage. He reveals things about himself that he wouldn’t tell just anyone. They establish trust with one another and continue to share the deeper things in their hearts as they work their way towards marriage. Jesus is doing the same as you walk this life with Him towards eternity. By His words in the Bible, He’s sharing with you who He is and His intentions. He’s giving you the plan towards your marriage together and helping you prepare for the great and glorious wedding you’ll have. The more you grow with Christ, the more intimate you’ll become because He’s pursuing you. He loves you like you’re the only person in the world. It’s incredible to think that He can love you and everyone else equally to that great measure.

May you take time today to bask in the love that the Lord has for you. Ask Him to show you even a glimpse of that love, so that you may be captivated by it. This is the pursuit of your life: to love God and love others. The more you enjoy the fullness of His love, the more that’ll overflow and pour out into sharing love with others.

So, to you who are, “rooted and firmly established in love, may [you] be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” – Ephesians 3:17-19

Happy Valentines Day! Enjoy the best gift of love you can ever receive!
